Op de weg naar Matsouki en het Vylizas klooster, via Mistras, rijden we langs deze mooie stenen brug (58) ... en over deze afschuwelijke roestige stalen brug (59) - niet een unicum in deze streek noch in Griekenland, en ze boezemen ons niet echt vertrouwen in! -

En route vers Matsouki et le monastère de Vylizas , par Mistras, nous passons par ce très beau pont de pierre (58) ... et par-dessus cet horrible pont métallique bien rouillé (59) , nullement un exemplaire unique dans cette région ni en Grèce, ces ponts ne inspirent pas vraiment confiance!

On the way to Matsouki and the Vylizas monastery, passing by Mistras, we see this very nice stone bridge (58) ... and we cross this horrible metallic bridge (59) - not the only one in the region nor in Greece, and we feel not really very secure by those those bridges!

Matsouki

	Matsouki, zondagmiddag. Een heel hevig onweer veroorzaakte een 20-tal dagen geleden ernstige schade aan de pas vernieuwde hoofdweg in het dorp en aan de nieuwe parking: hele stukken wegdek werden door het kolkende water weggespoeld. In het enige open kafeneion, net naast de borden die naar de Plateia en de watermolen aanwijzen , kunnen we een (rijk) omelet met fetakaas en een lekker slaatje krijgen want er is geen taverna open! Terwijl we op deze (uitzonderlijk) uit gastvrijheid bereide maaltijd wachten (wel vraagt de waard ons om een dertigtal minuten geduld te oefenen), wil de pope ons de schatten van het Vylizas klooster tonen. De rijke en kostbare iconen werden na herhaalde pogingen tot diefstal in het verlaten klooster, in een heel beveiligd museum hoger in het dorp ondergebracht. We krijgen een erg vriendelijke privé-rondleiding ... weliswaar in het Grieks, en na onze maaltijd vergast de pope ons nog op een ellènikós kafés! De sleutels van het Vylizas klooster krijgen we in ruil voor Kaat's identiteitskaart als pand, in het kleine café net hogerop achter ons kafeneion; Kaat gaat hiervoor op zoek in het dorp om man te vinden ( pou inè ta klidia tou monastiriou; [ waar zijn de sleutels van het klooster? ] gaat ze vragend ). Matsouki, dimanche midi. Il y a une vingtaine de jours un très violent orage a dévasté la route principale et le parking, tout récemment rénovés: de parties entièrs de l'asphalte ont été emportées par les eaux bouillonnantes. Dans le seul kafeneion ouvert, où les quelques tables sont bien occupées, situé en remontant la rue vers la Plateia - là où des panneaux indiquent celle-ci ainsi que le moulin à eau - le patron accepte, par hospitalité, de nous faire préparer un petit repas - omelette au fromage de feta et salade - car il n'y pas de taverne ouverte! Pendant que nous attendons - le cafetier nous a demandé de patienter une demi-heure - le pope accepte de nous montrer les trésors du monastère de Vylizas. Cette riche collection d'icônes précieuses a trouvé refuge dans un petit musée hyper-sécurisé situé près de l'église ( plus haut à droite de notre kafeneion ). Nous aurons droit à une visite privée, aimablement et abondemment commentée ... en grec; après notre repas le pope nous offrira l' ellènikós kafés que chacun nous avions commandé! Nous recevrons les clefs du monastère Vylizas en échange de la carte d'identité de Kaat remise comme caution dans le petit café situé tout juste derrière notre kafeneion; pour cela Kaat est partie à la recherche du respnsable en demandant pou inè ta klidia tou monastiriou; [ où sont les clefs du monastèrer?]

Matsouki, Sunday, at noon. About 20 days ago a severe thunderstorm has devastated the main road of Matsouki's village and the parking place, both recently rebuilt: large parts of asphalt have been carried away by the swirling water. Only one kafeneion is open, most tables being taken. It is situated on the road, higher in the village were panels are indicating the Plateia and the watermill. The owner accept to prepare a basic but nice lunch - omelet with feta cheese and a salad -, more by sense of hospitality, as it is unusual in his café, no taverna being open! While we are waiting - half an hour we were asked - the pope accepts to show us the treasures of the Vylizas monastery. The rich collection of precious icons has been brought in a small but very protected museum near the church, higher on the right of our kafeneion. We will get a private visit, friendly and abundantly commented ... in Greek; after our lunch the pope offers both of us an ellènikós kafés! We get the keys of the Vylizas monastery after Kaat has given her identity card as pledge to the responsible person in the small café just behind our kafeneion; to find the man Kaat was looking during a time in the village asking pou inè ta klidia tou monastiriou; [ where are the keys of the monastery? ].

De helft van het pad naar het Vylizas klooster is heel mooi aangelegd (64) en loopt langs de erg steile rotswand; op verschillende plaatsen liggen neergekomen brokken rotsblok; daarna moeten we het smalle oude pad (65) volgen; we lopen in een dik halfuur naar het klooster. Gelukkig is er veel wind wat de hitte erg draaglijk maakt. Maar steeds moeten we goed uitkijken om niet over losliggende stenen weg te glijden.

Sur la moitié de la distance de Matsouki au monastère de Vylizas le sentier qui suit ce raide flanc de montagne a été aménagé (64) mais en de très nombreux endroits des morceaux de roche se sont tombés - certains ayant endommagé la récente construction; puis nous devons poursuivre par l'étroit sentier rocailleux (65). Il nous faut une bonne demi-heure pour atteindre le monastère. Par bonheur le vent qui souffle parfois assez fort rend la chaleur très supportable. Mais il nous faut constamment veiller à ne pas glisser sur la caillasse qui parfois rend le passage délicat.

Till halfway we walk on an nice paved path (64), following the steep mountain side, where a lot of stones and rocks came down - some have already damaged the recent construction; there after we follow the ancient narrow path (65). In a little more than half an hour we reach the Vylizas monastery. Luckily there is wind so that the heat is bearable. But we have to progress with care due to the loose stones.

			80. Als we , na deze lange dag, terugkeren naar ons hotel, bereidt Kyriaki ons een lekkere en lichte maaltijd! Lorsque, apès cette longue journée, nous rentrons à notre hôtel, Kyriaki nous prépare un bon et léger repas! Back in our hotel, Kyriaki prepares for us a nice and light meal!

Enkele kilometers na Pramanda, op de weg naar Melissourgi, gaan we rechtsaf naar het Paraskevi klooster

Quelques kilomètres après la sortie de Pramanda sur la route de Melissourgi, nous prenons à droite le petit chemin asphalté qui nous mène au monastère de Paraskevi.

Na de wandeling rijden we naar de Anemotripa grot bij Pramanda op de weg naar Agnanta, maar alles is dicht en verlaten ... veel helpt dit lakonieke bericht ons niet vooruit .... er rest ons niets anders dan maar terug te keren naar Kalarrytes! Après la promenade nous voulons visiter la grotte Anemotripa à la sortie de Pramanda vers Agnanta mais celle-ci n'est pas ouverte ... ce laconique avis ne nous éclaire pas ... il ne nous reste qu'à rentrer à Kalarrytes After the walk, we want to visit the Cave Anemotripa leaving Pramanda on the road to Agnanta ... this notice is not really a help ... so we decide to return to Kalarrytes 102-103

Merci aux habitants de cette belle région, à Ioanna, Asser, Alexandra, Kyriaki et Aggelo de nous avoir si aimablement reçus pendant ces cinq jours. Par ce thé, ce café, ces glykos offerts, par votre intérêt - apo pou iste; - vous nous avez dit que cette Grèce que nous aimions, existe toujours, qu'il faut seulement aller la chercher plus loin, à peine plus loin ...
